Kurram Police arrest woman’s uncle in Skardu family massacre

Kurram Police Arrest Womans Uncle In Skardu Family Massacre

KOHAT, November 3, 2026 : Kurram police have arrested a key suspect in the killing of four members of a family in Skardu, officials said on Tuesday. The arrested suspect is the uncle of one of the female victims.
The suspect, identified as Rajab Hussain, son of Badshah Hussain and a resident of Samir village in Lower Kurram was traced through modern investigative techniques, including geo-fencing, and arrested during a joint operation conducted by Kurram police and a special team of Skardu police.

The Station House Officer (SHO) of Samir Police Station confirmed the arrest when contacted, saying the suspect had been remanded in judicial custody. He added that raids were underway to apprehend other suspects allegedly involved in the killings.

Massacred family

The arrest came five days after four members of a family were brutally stabbed to death at their home in Skardu. Unidentified assailants reportedly broke into the house and killed Muhammad Aslam, his wife Hania daughter of Syed Hadi and their two young children, four-year-old Mehdi and two-year-old Zehra.

A murder case was registered at Skardu Police Station on the complaint of Aslam’s brother, who nominated Hania’s brothers and uncle as suspects.
According to sources, the suspects fled Skardu by air shortly after the killings, travelling first to Lahore before making their way to Kurram. Hania belonged to the Samir area of Lower Kurram.
The gruesome killings sparked widespread concern and protests in Skardu, where residents demanded the immediate arrest of those responsible.

Preliminary reports suggest that the murders may have stemmed from a family dispute linked to a court marriage contracted five years ago. However, the alleged motive and the roles of the nominated suspects have yet to be established and remain under investigation.

Police said efforts were continuing to arrest the remaining suspects and bring all those allegedly involved in the killings to justice.
