Saudi Civil Defence Lifts Safety Alerts After Missile Threat Passes

Saudi Arabia’s Civil Defence has lifted precautionary danger alerts in Taif and Jazan after issuing mobile phone warnings earlier in the day.

In a statement, the agency said the threat had passed but urged residents to continue following official safety instructions and avoid gatherings and photography.

Meanwhile, the Saudi-led coalition fighting in Yemen said it had intercepted and destroyed 10 ballistic missiles launched by the Houthi group towards the kingdom’s southern region. Coalition spokesperson Turki Al-Maliki announced the interceptions in a post on X.

Separately, the Muslim World League strongly condemned reported Houthi attacks targeting the holy cities of Makkah and Madinah, describing them as a threat to the sentiments of Muslims worldwide and a violation of religious values and basic humanitarian principles.

The Makkah-based organisation expressed full solidarity with Saudi Arabia and supported its efforts to take necessary measures against the group.
