International bullion rates are a major factor influencing domestic gold prices. When gold prices fall in the global market, local rates can also decline, although the extent of the change may vary.
The rupee-dollar exchange rate is another important factor, as currency movements affect the cost of gold in Pakistan. Global market conditions and exchange-rate fluctuations therefore remain important indicators for jewellery buyers, investors and traders monitoring the precious metals market.
