Effective Measures Keep Dengue Cases In Islamabad Significantly Lower Than Last Year

Effective preventive measures have significantly curbed the spread of dengue virus in Islamabad this year, with only seven cases reported so far. The encouraging figures reflect a marked improvement compared to the corresponding period last year and highlight the effectiveness of the ongoing dengue prevention and control campaign in the federal capital.

Under the supervision of Dr. Irshad Ali Jokio, Director General of Health, Capital Development Authority (CDA)/Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad (MCI), the Directorate of Health has intensified efforts to prevent the spread of dengue through insecticide spraying, preventive fumigation and other precautionary measures across various sectors and rural areas of Islamabad.

The comprehensive preventive campaign aims to eliminate mosquito breeding sites, minimize the risk of dengue transmission and protect public health. Regular field activities and sustained preventive efforts have contributed significantly to keeping dengue cases under control.

The Directorate of Health’s proactive approach, commitment and coordinated efforts in combating dengue are commendable. Maintaining these measures, alongside public awareness and community cooperation, remains essential to preventing a further spread of the virus and ensuring the health and safety of Islamabad’s residents.
