ISLAMABAD – Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar called for further strengthening Pakistan and Türkiye’s strategic partnership as Pakistan’s designated ambassador to Ankara, Amina Baloch, prepares to take up her new diplomatic assignment.
During meeting with Baloch, Dar stressed importance of two countries’ close and brotherly relations, stressing the need to expand cooperation across defence and security, trade, investment, education and people-to-people contacts, according to a Foreign Office statement.
The meeting focused on bilateral relations and ways to enhance mutual cooperation between Islamabad and Ankara, with both countries seeking to build on their longstanding strategic partnership.
Dar praised Baloch’s services as foreign secretary and acknowledged her valuable contributions to Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts. He expressed confidence that her experience would help further strengthen ties between the two countries. The deputy premier extended his best wishes to Baloch as she prepares to assume her new responsibilities as Pakistan’s ambassador to Türkiye and prayed for her success.
Pakistan and Türkiye maintain close diplomatic and strategic relations, with defence cooperation, economic engagement and broader bilateral collaboration among the key areas of their partnership.
