More rain and windstorms, accompanied by isolated heavy downpours and hailstorms, are expected in Peshawar and several parts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Tuesday night and Wednesday, with intermittent breaks, according to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD).
The PMD said a westerly wave was influencing the upper parts of the country and was likely to persist through Wednesday.
On Tuesday night, rain and windstorms with isolated heavy showers and hailstorms are forecast for Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Bajaur, Malakand, Peshawar, Mardan, Swabi, Nowshera, Charsadda, Khyber, Kurram, Kohat, Karak, Waziristan, Bannu, Lakki Marwat and Dera Ismail Khan.
Similar weather is expected on Wednesday in Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kohistan, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Bajaur, Swabi and Nowshera, with gusty winds, isolated heavy rainfall and hailstorms.
The PMD warned that strong winds and hail could damage vulnerable structures, including billboards, electricity poles and solar panels.
Daytime temperatures in Peshawar are expected to range between 33°C and 35°C on Wednesday and Thursday.
Rain was also recorded at several locations across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during the past 24 hours. Peshawar received 38mm at the city station and 5mm at the airport, while Cherat recorded 17mm, Malam Jabba and Takht Bai 10mm each, Lower Dir 5mm, Upper Dir 4mm, Kalam 4mm and Drosh 2mm. Balakot, Chitral and Saidu Sharif received 1mm each.
Peshawar recorded a maximum temperature of 35°C, while evening relative humidity stood at 91%.
