ISLAMABAD – Airfares in Pakistan are likely to increase following a sharp rise in the price of jet fuel, which has climbed by more than Rs9 per litre in just three days.
The price of jet fuel has reached Rs355.52 per litre, after rising by a total of Rs9.05 per litre between October 1 and October 3.
The increase in fuel prices is expected to raise the operating costs of airlines, putting additional pressure on their overall expenses.
Aviation sources have indicated that airlines may increase air ticket prices in response to the higher cost of jet fuel.
The potential increase in fares could affect passengers as airlines assess the impact of rising fuel costs on their operations.
