Health ministry orders probe into MDCAT 2026 irregularities in Sindh

Punjab Conducts Mdcat Under Elaborate Security

ISLAMABAD – Federal Minister for Health Mustafa Kamal on Saturday took notice of the complaints regarding alleged irregularities in the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) 2026 held in Sindh.

The Ministry of National Health Services has written to the president of the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC), and directed a detailed investigation into the MDCAT results.

The ministry has asked the PMDC to analyse the number of candidates, marks, pass rates and highest scores at each examination centre to identify any unusual patterns.

It has also directed the council to examine significant or abnormal differences in results among individual MD-CAT centres.

The ministry has instructed the PMDC to review attendance sheets, seating plans, examination-centre records and result data as part of the investigation.

The council has further been asked to examine invigilation arrangements and available digital records related to the conduct of the examination.

The ministry also directed the PMDC to investigate allegations of impersonation, including cases in which another person may have appeared in the examination on behalf of a candidate, as well as allegations of paper leakage.

According to the letter, the investigation will also cover any violations of examination procedures, technical glitches or administrative negligence that may have affected the conduct of the test or preparation of its results.

The PMDC has been directed to obtain relevant reports and records concerning the conduct of the MDCAT and compilation of its results.

The federal health ministry has asked the council to complete the investigation and submit a detailed report within 15 days.

The move comes following complaints about alleged irregularities in the MDCAT results in Sindh, with the authorities seeking to establish whether any procedural, technical or administrative issues affected the examination process.
