Younis Khan backs batter Mohammad Rizwan amid NCCIA ongoing case

Younis Khan Backs Batter Mohammad Rizwan Amid Nccia Ongoing Case

LAHORE – Former Pakistan captain Younis Khan has once again opened up in the favour of wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan, urging the fellow cricketers and others to exercise caution while commenting on the case involving the Pakistan star.

Younis Khan said he stood with Mohammad Rizwan as a fellow cricketer but stressed that the matter should be discussed responsibly until the relevant proceedings are completed.

He made these remarks while speaking on a local private TV.

“As a cricketer, I stand with Mohammad Rizwan, but we need to be careful while discussing this matter,” Younis said.

He emphasised that players should respect the authority of the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and follow the established procedure rather than attempting to influence the process through public statements.

Younis Khan said the National Crime Control and Investigation Agency (NCCIA) was a credible institution and advised Rizwan to cooperate with the process and comply with the applicable legal requirements.

“We are not anyone’s lawyers, nor do we know the details of the case,” he said, adding that the matter involving Rizwan occurred during an official tour.

The former captain maintained that no definitive conclusions should be drawn before the case reaches its outcome.

He also reminded former and current cricketers that they should be cautious when discussing an ongoing investigation, particularly when they do not have access to all the facts.

Younis further revealed that he had personally experienced a similar situation during his playing career.

“I also faced a similar situation in the past. My case continued for four months,” he said.

His remarks came amid discussions surrounding Rizwan and the proceedings involving the Pakistan batter. Younis’ comments focused on allowing the relevant authorities to complete their process before reaching conclusions about the matter.

Rizwan remains an important member of Pakistan’s white-ball setup, having represented the national side across formats and previously served as the team’s captain.
