LAHORE – The Lahore High Court on Thursday declined a request to immediately suspend the detention notifications issued against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan’s sisters, Uzma Khan and Noreen Niazi.
Justice Abher Gul Khan heard a petition challenging the detention orders issued against the two women.
Advocates Mudassar Umar and Barrister Taimur appeared before the court on behalf of Uzma Khan and Noreen Niazi, while Farukh Lodhi represented the Punjab government.
The petitioners’ counsel requested the court to suspend the detention notifications with immediate effect. However, the court rejected the plea for interim relief.
The Lahore High Court issued notices to the respondents and sought their responses on the petition.
The court will proceed with the case after receiving replies from the concerned authorities.
