LAHORE – Pakistani singer Ali Zafar has spoken out in support of Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif after she faced criticism on social media over changes in her weight following the birth of her son.
Katrina Kaif has remained largely away from films since becoming a mother and has recently faced online comments about her appearance.
The actress was recently seen attending an event with her husband, actor Vicky Kaushal, where she wore a green outfit. While her appearance attracted attention, much of the discussion on social media focused on her weight rather than her fashion or styling.
Several social media users commented on Kaif’s appearance and shared photographs from earlier stages of her career, drawing comparisons with her current appearance.
Responding to the criticism, Zafar urged people to stop judging others based on their appearance and said people should focus on improving themselves instead.
Ali Zafar’s comments came as online discussion over Katrina Kaif’s appearance continued, with the singer’s response drawing attention for challenging the criticism directed at the actress.
Ali Zafar said men, in particular, needed to examine their own attitudes towards women and the importance they placed on women’s bodies and physical appearance.
“Being a man, we need to look within ourselves and correct ourselves. We have all made mistakes in life and there is always room to correct them,” Zafar said in his social media response.
He argued that society had developed an unhealthy way of viewing women’s bodies and beauty, adding that people often had no idea what someone else might be experiencing in their personal life.
Ali Zafar urged people to treat others with kindness rather than judging them over their appearance.
“We don’t know what someone is going through in their life, so be kind to people,” he said.
He also reminded social media users that life was short and encouraged them to allow others to live happily and focus on their own lives.
