US Defence Firm POWERUS holds High-Level Talks at GHQ on Tech, Defence Cooperation: ISPR

RAWALPINDI – A high-level delegation from US-based defence and critical infrastructure company POWERUS held talks with Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces (COAS & CDF), at General Headquarters (GHQ), Rawalpindi, in a meeting focused on emerging defence technologies and potential avenues for cooperation.

The delegation, led by Mr. Robert Bret Velicovich, discussed matters of mutual interest with the Pakistani military leadership, with particular attention to evolving trends in defence technology and opportunities linked to defence procurement, production and capacity building.

The meeting comes against the backdrop of rapidly advancing defence technologies, highlighting the growing importance of innovation and advanced technological solutions in strengthening national security and resilience.

Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir underscored the significance of technological innovation and sophisticated solutions in enhancing Pakistan’s security capabilities and institutional resilience.

Both sides expressed interest in expanding engagement in areas of mutual interest, signalling potential scope for deeper interaction between POWERUS and Pakistani defence stakeholders in procurement, production and capacity development.

The discussions at GHQ show role of technology-driven cooperation in shaping future defence capabilities and creating potential opportunities for collaboration between Pakistan and US-based industry.
