Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi has taken charge as the new Director General of the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA).
The agency welcomed Rizvi, expressing confidence that his leadership will help further strengthen efforts to combat cybercrime and improve the protection of citizens in Pakistan’s rapidly evolving digital environment.
During a meeting with NCCIA officers after assuming the charge, Rizvi announced zero tolerance for corruption within the agency and ordered strict action against officials involved in corrupt practices.
He also warned that those harassing women or posting abusive and objectionable content against them online would face legal action.
The DG ordered stronger cyber patrolling, daily performance monitoring of officers and the early disposal of pending cases. Officers failing to act against illegal call centres in their jurisdictions would also be held accountable.
He said the NCCIA was being linked with the nationwide 15 emergency helpline so cybercrime complaints could be promptly referred to the agency. Universal contact numbers would also be introduced to improve public access to NCCIA services.
