ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has strongly condemned the attempted drone attack targeting the holy site of Makkah Al-Mukarramah, expressing solidarity with Saudi Arabia and praising the response of its armed forces.
In a statement shared on social media, the prime minister described the incident as a “dastardly and heinous” act and said the people of Pakistan were deeply saddened and disturbed by the incident.
“There can be no words strong enough to capture the depth of anguish and sorrow felt by us,” Shehbaz said, describing the attack as “reprehensible and unforgivable.”
The prime minister also praised the Royal Saudi Armed Forces for their response, saluting their “extraordinary vigilance, courage, and professionalism” and commending their swift action.

Shehbaz called on all parties to exercise maximum restraint and avoid further escalation, stressing that the region had already endured extensive conflict.
“Dialogue and diplomacy remain the only sustainable path towards peace,” he said.
The prime minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s support for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, saying Islamabad stood “shoulder to shoulder” with the brotherly country in defending its sovereignty and territorial integrity.
He also underscored Pakistan’s commitment to the security and sanctity of the Haramain Sharifain, describing it as a duty held close to the heart of every Pakistani.
