New Petrol, Diesel Prices in Pakistan for August 28

Petrol Prices Increased From May 1 2026 Check New Prices

ISLAMABAD – Still No relief for Pakistanis as the federal government announced meagre cut in petrol and high-speed diesel prices.

Under the revised petroleum prices effective August 28, 2026, petrol has become 50 paisas cheaper per litre, with its price dropping from Rs343.10 to Rs342.60. High-speed diesel has also seen a reduction, with the government cutting its price by 19 paisas per litre. The new HSD rate stands at Rs371.61, down from Rs371.80.

Petroleum Division issued the notification on August 27, stating that the revised ex-depot prices were determined under the federal government’s petroleum pricing mechanism.

The latest rates were notified following the pricing process involving the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA).

Pakistan’s petrol prices remained highly volatile in 2026. After surging during April’s global oil-market turmoil, prices later declined, with petrol falling to around Rs327–329 per litre in early August.

The trend reversed mid-month, pushing petrol to Rs343.10 by August 26. The latest 50-paisa cut has brought the price to Rs342.60 per litre from August 28, while HSD fell by 19 paisas to Rs371.61. The fluctuations reflect the impact of global oil prices, geopolitical tensions and Pakistan’s daily petroleum pricing mechanism.
