Synoptic Situation
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), deep depression is currently located over eastern Madhya Pradesh. It is expected to move westward and weaken into a depression during the next 24 to 36 hours.
Under the influence of this deep depression, monsoon currents are continuously penetrating the eastern and central parts of Pakistan.

Under these conditions, more widespread monsoon rains are predicted in Rawalpindi, Murree, Galyat, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, Mandi Bahauddin, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Wazirabad, Sialkot, Narowal, Lahore, Nankana Sahib, Okara, Kasur, Sheikhupura, Faisalabad, Jhang, Toba Tek Singh, Chiniot, Khushab, Mianwali, Sargodha, Sahiwal, Sahiwal and Pakpattan on Thursday night and the next two days, with occasional breaks.
Scattered heavy and at times very heavy rains are also expected during the forecast period.
Rain-wind/thundershowers are also expected in Layyah, Bhakkar, Noorpur Thal, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Rahim Yar Khan, Khanpur, Multan, Vehari, Khanewal, Lodhran, Muzaffargarh, Kot Addu, Dera Ghazi Khan and Rajanpur.
Impacts and Advisories
Heavy rains may cause urban flooding in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Pothohar region, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Sialkot, Lahore and Faisalabad.
Widespread rains may generate flash floods in local streams/nullahs of Murree, Galyat, Northeastern Punjab, Islamabad, and Pothohar region.
Windstorm & lightning may damage weak structures such as solar panels, electric poles, and billboards.

Daytime temperatures in Lahore are expected to remain between 33°C and 35°C on Friday and Saturday.
