ISLAMABAD – Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Suhail Afridi has denied the existence of any “Release Force” formed for the release of PTI founder Imran Khan, submitting an eight-page reply to the Federal Constitutional Court (FCC) through the Advocate General.
In his response, Suhail Afridi stated that no such “Release Force” was ever established. He clarified that the initiative in question is the PTI Founder Release Peace Movement, which he described as a peaceful, unarmed and voluntary campaign with no armed structure or militant component.
The reply further argued that the constitutional petition was politically motivated, based on misrepresentation, premature, hypothetical and not maintainable before the court. It also maintained that the petitioner had failed to demonstrate any violation of fundamental rights.
Afridi requested the court to dismiss the petition at the preliminary stage and declare the PTI Founder Release Peace Movement constitutional and lawful.
The Federal Constitutional Court has scheduled the next hearing in the case for July 29.
