LAHORE – A private schools’ association has urged the Punjab government to reduce the ongoing summer vacation period and allow private educational institutions to resume academic activities from August 3 instead of the currently scheduled reopening date of August 24.
A meeting of Private School Solutions of Pakistan was held under the chairmanship of the organization’s President Malik Abdul Sami, where participants discussed issues faced by private schools, government restrictions, and possible solutions.
During the meeting, members stressed that reopening schools earlier would help prevent disruption to students’ academic activities and allow institutions to continue educational services without further delays.
The Punjab government had earlier announced summer vacations for all public and private schools and colleges from May 22, 2026, to August 23, 2026. Educational institutions are scheduled to reopen on Monday, August 24, 2026.
Addressing the meeting, Malik Abdul Samad urged all unregistered private schools to complete their registration process immediately. He said registered institutions would be able to continue their educational services while fulfilling legal requirements.
Participants reaffirmed their commitment to continuing consultations with relevant authorities to address challenges faced by private educational institutions and promote quality education.
