ISLAMABAD – Pakistan has successfully blocked more than 400 cyber attacks during the ongoing year of 2026
Director General of the National Cyber Emergency Response Team (NCERT), Dr. Haider Abbas, revealed it in an interview.
He said that the country has witnessed a rise in cyber threats and emphasized the need for stronger national-level cyber security measures.
Dr. Abbas proposed the establishment of a powerful National Cyber Security Authority under the supervision of the Prime Minister to improve Pakistan’s ability to respond to growing cyber risks.
He said the authority should be responsible for managing cyber security across the country and added that a body led by the prime minister would be able to work more effectively in protecting national digital infrastructure.
Dr. Abbas highlighted the increasing challenges posed by state-sponsored cyber attacks and stressed the importance of strengthening Pakistan’s cyber defense capabilities.
