At least 11 people lost their lives, and 25 others were injured in rain-related incidents across Pakistan over the past 24 hours, raising the nationwide monsoon death toll to 97.
According to the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA), the latest fatalities included seven people in Punjab, two in Sindh, and one each in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan.
The authority reported that 25 people sustained injuries during the same period, including 20 in Punjab, three in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and two in Sindh. With these latest casualties, the total number of people injured since the start of the monsoon season has climbed to 297.
NDMA stated that heavy rains damaged 22 houses and killed eight heads of livestock over the past day. Since June 26, monsoon-related incidents have destroyed or damaged a total of 447 houses and claimed the lives of 269 livestock.
The NDMA has advised citizens to remain vigilant and strictly follow official safety guidelines as monsoon rains continue to affect various parts of the country.
