MANSEHRA – Rainfall continued for the third consecutive day in Mansehra and surrounding areas, disrupting travel and causing road closures in parts of the Naran region.
Officials tourists stranded on Jheel Road and Naran Jheel Khud Road have been shifted to Naran as authorities responded to the situation.
The district administration has advised visitors to avoid unnecessary travel to upper areas for the next three to four days due to ongoing weather conditions.
In Naran, flash floods triggered severe landsliding on Jheel Road, forcing authorities to completely suspend traffic movement on the route.
Heavy machinery from the Kaghan Development Authority (KDA) has been dispatched to the affected site, where debris removal and road restoration work is underway.
The road closure left several tourist vehicles and jeeps stranded at different locations.
Rescue 1122 and other relevant departments have urged the public to avoid travelling towards Naran until roads are fully restored.
Authorities have also advised tourists to follow official instructions and seek guidance from rescue teams before heading towards mountainous areas.
Meanwhile, Punjab’s Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) has issued a warning about low-level flooding at Kalabagh on the Indus River and Khanki on the Chenab River.
PDMA spokesperson said water inflow at Kalabagh has been recorded at 269,000 cusecs, with an outflow of 262,000 cusecs. At Khanki on the Chenab River, inflow stands at 113,000 cusecs, while the outflow has been recorded at 106,000 cusecs.
