PARC observed ‘Plant For Pakistan Day’

In line with directions of Prime Minister of Pakistan, Pakistan Agricultural Research Council (PARC) observed “Plant For Pakistan Day”.
Dr. Muhammad Hashim Popalzai, Federal Secretary for M/o NFSR, Islamabad and Muhammad Ayub Chaudhry, Chairman, PARC Planted a Tree Sapling at PARC HQs, Islamabad and National Agricultural Research Centre (NARC) respectively. Sr. Management of PARC and electronic and print media persons were also present on the spot. Special prayers for the success of the campaign were also offered by the participants.
While sharing the views on planting a tree sapling at PARC HQs, Islamabad, Dr. Muhammad Hashim Popalzai, Federal Secretary for M/o NFSR, Islamabad said that Tree Plantation Campaign is aimed at motivating the people to become part of this effort.
Plantation is not an option but a necessity to save the country for future generations, The Federal Secretary also emphasized the importance of plantation to take part in the “Clean and Green Pakistan Campaign.
He further expressed that our forests are unique and diverse ecological systems that provide timbre and fuel wood along-with providing environmental and ecological services such as water regulation, soil fertility regulation and habitat for biodiversity. Dr. Popalzai also urged to plant fruit trees in Islamabad.
Muhammad Ayub Chaudry, Chairman, PARC highlighted that the tree plantation campaigns are frequently conducted to highlight the important role of forests in the improvement of the environment and poverty alleviation.
The Chairman, PARC further added that the purpose of the campaign is to encourage people, communities, organizations, business and industry, civil society and government to collectively plant trees.
The Chairman, PARC also told that this campaign will also be spread at PARC outstations research institutes across Pakistan and urged the scientists / researchers to plant maximum number of trees in this campaign to make it successful. Persons from electronic and print media also planted saplings.
