ISLAMABAD – Authorities in federal capital has kicked off a major infrastructure project to link Margalla Road of Islamabad directly to the motorway, aiming to provide commuters with a faster and more convenient route.
Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi visited the project site to review ongoing construction activities.
Officials briefed him that the 2.7-kilometer-long project will include a three-lane road on each side, a two-way service road, an interchange on GT Road, two underpasses, and one bridge.
The second 2.5-kilometer section will be completed by the Punjab government.
Minister Naqvi stated that the project will offer an alternative, speedy route between Islamabad and the motorway, reducing traffic congestion and travel time.
He instructed that all necessary resources be mobilized to ensure timely completion of the project.
