AJK packages for lawyers, daily wagers

The Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) government has approved separate relief packages for lawyers and daily wagers who lost their livelihood in the wake of the coronavirus scourge. The approval was given at a meeting presided over by Prime Minister Raja FarooqHaider Khan here on Monday.
Under the package, lawyers would be paid through the bar councils while the disbursement of relief package has been made by considering the population. Addressing on the occasion, Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan said that state government is standing with the people who have lost their livelihoods during the COVID-19 lockdown situation.
He directed the concerned authorities to ensure the provision of relief package to the lawyers and daily wagers before Eid.
Raja Farooq Haider Khan also took serious notice of the private cars being run as taxis and directed the concerned authorities for stern action. He also directed the Commissioner for the secret monitoring at all entry points.
Earlier, Senior Member Board of Revenue Fayyaz Ali Abbasi while briefing the meeting told that AJK is the only region throughout the country where relief has been provided to deserving people in anyway. He told that so far 225000 deserving families in the state were provided the relief.
