Lahore tops the world’s most polluted cities rankings, as the Air Quality Index (AQI) hits a hazardous level of 352 on Monday afternoon.
Pakistan’s other major city, Karachi, is in 10th place with an AQI of 160 (unhealthy)
According to data collected from the IQ Air website on Monday at 02:40 pm, Lahore (Pakistan) leads the list with an AQI of 352 (hazardous), followed by Dhaka (Bangladesh) with an AQI of 219 (very unhealthy).
Cairo (Egypt) is in third place with an AQI of 209 (very unhealthy), followed by Chengdu (China) with an AQI of 201 (very unhealthy).
Delhi (India) ranked fifth with an AQI of 194 (unhealthy), closely followed by Chongqing (China) with an AQI of 183 (unhealthy).
Hanoi (Vietnam) ranked seventh with an AQI of 174 (unhealthy), followed by Kolkata (India) with an AQI of 166 (unhealthy).
Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam) ranked ninth with an AQI of 164 (unhealthy), closely followed by Karachi (Pakistan) with an AQI of 160 (unhealthy).
AQI of the first-ranked city (Lahore) is hazardous, that of the second to fourth cities (Dhaka, Cairo, and Chengdu is very unhealthy, and that of the fifth to 10th cities is unhealthy.
