ISLAMABAD – As winter tightens its grip on parts of country, including Sindh, early mornings have become harsher than usual.
As intense cold spell tightens its grip on the province, the Sindh government has announced a major change in school timings to protect students from freezing morning temperatures.
According to official notification issued by Sindh Education Department, all public and private schools across province will now open at 9:00 am, while closing times will remain unchanged. The revised schedule will come into effect from Monday and will remain in place until January 26.
Education officials said the decision was taken in response to persistently low temperatures in several parts of Sindh, with the aim of shielding students from the harsh cold during early morning hours.
On the other hand, Punjab adopted a much stricter approach to worsening weather conditions. Punjab government extended winter vacations, keeping schools closed for longer period due to severe cold. Authorities in Punjab said the move was made in the interest of students’ health and safety.
With freezing conditions continuing to disrupt daily life, parents and students across Sindh are urged to remain cautious as the cold spell shows no signs of easing.
