With one death reported on Monday, the number of casualties due to coronavirus has reached six in Islamabad while the total number of confirmed cases is recorded 680 with 72 recoveries.
According to the latest data released by the health department among those detected positive with Covid-19 the highest percentage is the 30-39 years of age group (160 patients).
They constitute 6.9 pc of the total figure. The official data states that 115 patients are between 40 and 49 years age group, 71 are in 50-59 age group while 55 in 60-69 years age group.
Surprisingly there is quite a big number of coronavirus cases (133) between 20 and 29 years age group. There are 60 patients from the 10-19 and 26 in 0-9 age group.
The number of coronavirus affectees in 70-79 age bracket is 13 and above 80 are eight patients.
60-69 age brackets, eight each from the 0-9 and 70-79 age brackets, two aged 90 and above and one from the 80 to 89 age group.
The data also revealed that cases have been reported from 50 out of the capital’s 62 areas.
The data further reveals that Covid-19 appears to be spreading among younger residents of the capital, with 30-39 year olds becoming the most vulnerable age groups, according to data collected by the capital administration.
Bhara Kahu, Sector I-10, Tarlai, Shahzad Town, F-7 and a large number of other areas have the highest number of cases.
