DUBAI – Pakistan booked their place in the final of the Under-19 Asia Cup after registering a convincing eight-wicket victory over Bangladesh in the semi-final on Friday.
The rain-affected match was reduced to 27 overs per side. Bangladesh, batting first, were bowled out for 121 runs.
Abdul Subhan starred with the ball for Pakistan, picking up four wickets and restricting the opposition to a modest total.
In reply, Pakistan Under-19 chased down the target with ease, reaching 122 for two in the 17th over.
Sameer Minhas played a key role in the run chase, remaining unbeaten on 69 runs.
The victory set up a much-anticipated final between Pakistan and arch-rivals India, which will be played on Sunday in Dubai.
Earlier, India secured their place in the final by defeating Sri Lanka in the second semi-final.
The Pakistan-India clash is expected to draw much attention as both teams have shown strong performances throughout the tournament.
