ISLAMABAD – Gold prices in Pakistan plunged amid a negative trajectory in the international market. The price of gold per tola slid by Rs2,300, settling at Rs442,162, sending ripples through the local bullion market.
Ten-gram gold also faced a sharp decline, dropping Rs1,972 to close at Rs379,082, according to figures released by the All-Pakistan Gems and Jewellers Sarafa Association (APGJSA).
Just a day earlier, on Friday, gold had surged by Rs3,000 per tola to reach Rs444,462, highlighting the volatile swings in the market.
The fall in domestic prices aligns with international trends, as gold lost $23, dropping to $4,198 per ounce, accompanied by a $20 premium.
Meanwhile, silver prices remained unaffected, holding steady at Rs6,072 per tola, offering a rare note of stability in an otherwise turbulent market.
