RIYADH – Pakistan’s star javelin thrower, Arshad Nadeem, delivered an outstanding performance at the Islamic Solidarity Games 2025 in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, winning the gold medal with a remarkable throw of 83.05 meters in the final.
This victory marked his second consecutive gold at the prestigious event, further cementing his reputation as one of the world’s top athletes.
Nadeem’s gold-medal-winning throw came in the second round, where he surged ahead of all his competitors. His first-round throw of 75.44 meters had already set the pace, leaving his closest rival, Yasir Sultan, at 70.32 meters. In the second round, Nadeem extended his lead with a superb 83.05-meter throw, while Sultan recorded 74.43 meters.
The third round saw Nadeem throwing 82.48 meters, further solidifying his position at the top. Sultan, with a throw of 72.82 meters, remained in third place.

In the final round, Nadeem’s throw of 77.06 meters ensured his victory, while Sultan threw 73.78 meters, securing the silver medal.
This marks Pakistan’s first gold and silver medals at the Islamic Solidarity Games 2025, bringing the nation’s total medal count to four after two bronze medals in boxing.
Nadeem’s victory was hailed as a source of immense pride for Pakistan, as he became the first athlete from the country to win gold and silver at the current Games.
PCB Chairman, Mohsin Naqvi, congratulated Nadeem for his exceptional achievement, saying, “Arshad Nadeem has once again made the nation proud, and his victory is a testament to his hard work and dedication. I also extend my congratulations to his coach and family.”
