RIYADH – Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has allowed residences of various countries to perform Umrah at any time around the year.
The ministry, in a statement said the residents of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) can perform year around.
It added that they can organize their holy pilgrimage in several different ways to ensure a seamless and smooth.
The GCC residence can buy an Umrah package through Nusuk, the official digital platform of Saudi Arabia, it said, adding that they can also apply for a visa through accredited visa centers.
“For those who are transiting through the Kingdom on Saudia Airlines or Flynas, a transit visa can be acquired, enabling them to perform Umrah on their stopover,”Alarabiya reported.
The pilgrims from GCC can also obtain a tourism visa through electronic channels as it allows them perform Umrah and visit holy sites across the country.
As per the rules, it is mandatory for all visitors to get Umrah permit via the Nusuk app prior to their arrival at the Grand Mosque in Makkah.
List of GCC Countries
The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries are Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.
Residents of these countries can perform Umrah year-around.
