ISLAMABAD – Over 300 Pakistanis have safely returned from Syria. In a weekly media briefing, Foreign Office Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch said on Thursday.
The FO spokesperson said that the individuals who had traveled to Syria for pilgrimage are also among them. She expressed gratitude to the Lebanese government for promptly issuing visas to facilitate their return. She added that Pakistan’s embassy in Syria is providing assistance to all Pakistanis there.
The spokesperson emphasized that terrorism in any form must be condemned. She called on the international community to take notice of Israel’s war crimes. Pakistan supports Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity and condemns Israel’s occupation of the Golan Heights. The spokesperson stressed that Pakistan believes Syria’s issues cannot be resolved through foreign intervention. It is the right of the Syrian people to determine their own future. Pakistan also reaffirmed its political and moral support for Kashmiris and demanded an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.
Regarding the death of Khalil-ur-Rehman Haqqani, the spokesperson commented on the tweets by the Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, who expressed sorrow over his demise.
Additionally, the seventh session between Pakistan and Tajikistan was held in Islamabad, where both countries agreed to enhance trade and investment ties.
A meeting between Pakistan and France on UN Security matters also took place in Islamabad, where both sides agreed to address mutual challenges collaboratively.
