IBA Karachi hosted its Convocation for the Class of 2024 at its Main Campus, marking a momentous occasion as 1,353 graduates were conferred degrees across various disciplines. The graduating batch comprised 990 students from six undergraduate programs, 362 students from 11 postgraduate programs, and one PhD graduate.
The ceremony was graced by the Chief Minister of Sindh and Patron of IBA, Syed Murad Ali Shah, as the Chief Guest, with Ms. Sultana Siddiqui, President of Hum Network and Founder of Moomal Productions, attending as the Guest of Honor. Patron IBA, Syed Murad Ali Shah, lauded the institution for its legacy of leadership, excellence, and impact.
He highlighted the world-class faculty, 67% of whom hold PhD degrees from prestigious global institutions, as a source of inspiration for the students.
“This convocation holds special significance as IBA prepares to celebrate its 70th Anniversary next year—a legacy of leadership, excellence, and impact,” he said. Dr. S. Akbar Zaidi, Executive Director of IBA, congratulated the graduating students, noting that this year’s convocation marked the largest graduating class in the university’s history.
He said, “This day also marks the beginning of a momentous year as we look forward to celebrating IBA’s 70th Anniversary—a testament to our legacy of excellence and transformation.” Ms. Siddiqui praised the graduates and IBA for its academic excellence and societal contributions, urging the graduates to embrace their potential. “Believe in your abilities, dream big, and hold firmly to the values of integrity and honesty.
True success goes beyond personal achievements,” she advised. The convocation also recognized the achievements of position holders, who were awarded medals, shields, and merit certificates. Rowing champion Syeda Manahil Hussain (Class of 2024) received the ‘Excellence in Sports’ Award for her outstanding performance. The event celebrated not only the accomplishments of the graduates but also IBA’s ongoing commitment to excellence in education and societal impact.
