ABU DHABI – Get ready for a much-awaited 4-day weekend as the United Arab Emirates announced extended holidays in celebration of National Day.
Residents of Dubai and other cities will enjoy a four-day weekend in celebration of the country’s National Day – the event celebrated every year on December 2 to commemorate the establishment of the Gulf nation.

UAE Human Resources and Emiratisation ministry officials confirmed that private sector employees will receive paid holidays on December 2 and 3, which is the first two days of the week. When combined with regular weekends, this gives workers an break of four days.
It was reported that these holidays ar part of a broader initiative, in line with Cabinet decision, ensuring equal holiday breaks for both public and private sector employees across the country of 9.5 million.
UAE is observing 53rd National Day, and residents are traveling for a long weekend, while others are planning family gatherings and village-wide celebrations.
The official National Day ceremony will feature the country’s leaders, will take place in the picturesque city of Al Ain.
