LAHORE – The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Tuesday hired Shahid Aslam as the new batting coach for the national cricket team.
In light of the batting issues faced by the Pakistan team in Australia, the PCB has made the decision to appoint a permanent batting coach.
Shahid Aslam’s appointment has been officially confirmed by the board.
A PCB spokesperson stated that Shahid Aslam will be traveling with the team to Zimbabwe and South Africa in his role as the batting coach.
The spokesperson further mentioned that the PCB is also in search of a new spin bowling coach, and the appointment will be made soon.
The sources said that Shahid Aslam was appointed based on the recommendations of Aqib Javed. He had been part of the team’s support staff for several years in the past and is well known for his expertise in training batters.
He is particularly famous for conducting long hours of throw-down sessions during practice.
