RAWALPINDI – Chief of the Australian Army Lieutenant General Simon Stuart visited Pakistan’s General Headquarters (GHQ) for high-level talks with Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Syed Asim Munir of Pakistan.
The meeting focused on strengthening bilateral defense and security cooperation, with discussions centered around global and regional security challenges.
ISPR said Pakistan’s gratitude for longstanding ties with Australia, emphasizing the importance of further enhancing this partnership to promote shared goals of peace, stability, and security. Both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to deepening collaboration in defense matters, recognizing the value of strong cooperation in addressing common security concerns.
Lieutenant General Stuart praised Pakistan’s efforts in combating terrorism and acknowledged the country’s significant contributions to regional security. He also reiterated Australia’s commitment to working closely with Pakistan to improve defense relations and advance mutual security interests.
General Stuart also laid floral wreath at the Yadgar-e-Shuhada memorial to honor the sacrifices of Pakistan’s fallen soldiers. He was welcomed at GHQ with a guard of honor, marking the occasion with a ceremonial display by a smartly turned-out contingent of the Pakistan Army.
The visit underscores the continued strengthening of defense ties between Australia and Pakistan, with both sides committed to furthering their cooperation in areas of mutual interest.
