Pakistan Business and Disability Network (PBDN), in collaboration with the Employers’ Federation of Pakistan (EFP) and with support from Sightsavers, held an awareness-raising session at a local hotel for employers across diverse sectors. Syed Nazar Ali, Secretary General of EFP, opened the session by emphasizing that disability inclusion aligns well with business objectives. Majyd Aziz further endorsed the joint efforts of EFP-PBDN and Sightsavers, encouraging employers to focus on the abilities and potential of individuals with disabilities rather than viewing them with sympathy. Sightsavers’ Jamila Yar conducted a technical presentation covering foundational aspects of disability inclusion, such as common workplace barriers and ethical business benefits. Her presentation offered practical strategies for organizations to adopt inclusive practices, and participants engaged in interactive activities to better understand the real-world challenges and solutions around disability inclusion.
