KU approves HEC affiliation policy, sets up committee for reforms

The University of Karachi’s (KU) Academic Council has officially approved the adoption of the Higher Education Commission’s Institutional Affiliation Policy 2024, following the recommendations of a seven-member committee tasked with assessing the policy’s implementation.

The committee, established during a previous council meeting, endorsed the policy in light of feedback from council members.

The council meeting, presided over by KU Vice Chancellor Professor Dr.

Khalid Mahmood Iraqi at the Chinese Teachers Memorial Auditorium, also confirmed Professor Dr.

Saima Akhtar’s nomination to the KU Board of the Faculty of Science for a three-year term.

Additionally, the council responded to a proposal from the Controller of Examinations, forming a seven-member committee to draft policies governing registration, enrollment, and examination procedures for graduate.
