Provincial Minister for Industries and Trade Mian Aslam Iqbal chaired third meeting of Task Force for providing financial assistance at Civil Secretariat in which progress relating to collecting data for providing financial aid to the coronavirus affected labourers in view of prevailing coronavirus pandemic situation came under review.
Provincial Labour Minister Ansar Majeed Khan, senior officers of Industries and Trade along with Labour Department and other members attended the meeting.
Aslam Iqbal while addressing the participants said that PTI government is fully concerned about the difficulties of unemployed daily wagers and labourers owing to lockdown. He pledged that we will not leave jobless people in the lurch in this hour of trouble and difficulty.
The Minister further apprised that data colleting process of unemployed labourers and daily wagers is expeditiously ongoing and after ascertaining mode of providing fiscal assistance, its provision will be initiated soon.
He assured that data collecting mechanism from labour unions, rickshaw unions and other associations is also underway by contacting them. Aslam Iqbal vowed that provision of financial assistance to every labourer and daily wager being affected by lockdown will be ensured and it will be provided in a transparent manner.
No deserving or needy person will remain deprived of getting fiscal aid, he emphasized. We have to fight with this difficult situation by displaying courage as well as fortitude and the nation will come out victorious in this hour of trial and tribulation, concluded Aslam Iqbal.
Later, matter pertaining to providing financial assistance through Bank of Punjab and other sources was also reviewed during the meeting.
