HANDS launches digital MIS system to enhance water, sanitation services

In a significant step towards ensuring sustainable water and sanitation services, HANDS, a non-governmental organization, has developed a digital Management Information System (MIS) in collaboration with USAID.

This innovative system aims to monitor and track safe drinking water, sanitation, and garbage disposal in Jacobabad.At the launch event, Dr. Sheikh Tanveer Ahmed, Chief Executive of HANDS, emphasized the organization’s commitment to providing citizens with access to clean water and sanitation.

The MIS system will not only improve service delivery but also enable the municipal committee to address related problems efficiently.Chairman of the Municipal Committee, Abbas Jakhrani, praised the partnership between HANDS, USAID, and the municipal committee, highlighting its success in providing water to eight union councils in Jacobabad.

The MIS system will further enhance monitoring, tracking, and accountability.Syed Waseem Shah, Head of HANDS’ WASH Program, noted that the MIS system will increase public representation within the municipal committee and improve its performance. This digital solution will address all WASH-related problems, ensuring a better quality of life for citizens.The launch event showcased the MIS system’s capabilities through a presentation, demonstrating its potential to transform water and sanitation services in Jacobabad.
