NHMP chief inaugurates new facilities, stresses professional training

Inspector General of the National Highways and Motorway Police (NHMP), Salman Choudhry, emphasized the need for disciplined training and professional development during a ceremony at the NHMP Training College in Sheikhupura. The event marked the inauguration of new facilities, including staff hostels, mess halls, a library, and an IT lab, aimed at enhancing the training environment for NHMP personnel. Senior officers, including Additional IG Ali Ahmed Sabir Kayani, Commandant Training College DIG Syed Fareed Ali, DIG Masroor Alam Kolachi, and Deputy Commandant Imdad Ullah Shahid, were present to witness the developments.

Addressing the attendees, IG Salman Choudhry highlighted the crucial role of professional training in the NHMP’s mission to ensure road safety across Pakistan’s highways and motorways.

He reiterated the organization’s commitment to maintaining high standards of courtesy, integrity, and professionalism among its officers. “Well-trained personnel are the backbone of our efforts to keep roads safe,” Choudhry said, underscoring the importance of these values. In addition to the opening of the new facilities, the ceremony included the launch of the NHMP Training College’s official website. During a meeting chaired by IG Salman Choudhry, Commandant DIG Syed Fareed Ali presented a comprehensive briefing on the current training programs and future development initiatives at the college.

As part of the formalities, IG Choudhry received a guard of honor and planted a tree in the college courtyard to commemorate the occasion, symbolizing the ongoing growth and development of the NHMP’s training efforts.
