Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has paid a heartfelt tribute to the martyrs of the Karsaz tragedy on the 17th anniversary of the horrific attack that occurred on October 18, 2007.
Reflecting on the day when 180 Jiyalas lost their lives, Bilawal expressed deep sorrow while reaffirming the PPP’s commitment to democracy, justice, and the people of Pakistan. “The Karsaz bombing was a calculated conspiracy, where dictatorship and terrorists joined forces to target the truck carrying Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto and the PPP leadership amidst millions who had come to welcome her,” Bilawal said. “Those who attempted to silence democracy through violence have failed.” He emphasized that the Karsaz martyrs’ sacrifice for democracy remains etched in Pakistan’s history.
“Their courage and selflessness in the fight for a peaceful, democratic Pakistan—led by Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto—will never be forgotten.” Bilawal added that the martyrs’ blood continues to inspire the ongoing struggle against extremism and injustice.
