As efforts continue to get the proposed constitutional amendments, which have generated lot of controversy and led to parleys between political parties in order to develop a consensus, passed by the parliament, President Asif Ali Zardari on Wednesday convened the National Assembly (NA) and Senate sessions today.
The Senate session will be held at 3:00 in the afternoon, while that of the NA an hour later at 4:00. Similarly, the federal cabinet, too, will meet today.
On the other hand, Senator Irfan Siddiqui of the PML-N on Wednesday convened the meeting of the party’s parliamentary party in the Senate at 2:30 PM.
Calling the session, Siddiqui urged all the PML-N senators to ensure their presence in Islamabad by evening today.
