Foreign students, including Pakistani nationals, living can apply for the Post Study Work visa if they have recently finished their studies in New Zealand.
It allows the international students to stay and work in New Zealand for up to 3 years, depending on what they have studied.
A Post Study Work Visa lets the foreign students to work for any employer if you have completed a degree level 7 qualification or above. Your study must have been full-time for at least 30 weeks in New Zealand.
If you have completed a non-degree level 7 or below qualification you may still be able to get a Post Study Work Visa. However you must have completed a qualification that is on the qualifications eligible for Post Study Work Visa list.
The job must be related to what the applicants have studied. The study must have been full-time in New Zealand, and for the full duration required to gain the qualification.
The applicants are required to submit various documents such as identity document, health certificate and proof of funds.
Proof of Funds
The applicant must have enough money to live on while they in New Zealand. “You need to provide evidence that you have at least NZD$5,000 when you apply,” read the official statement.
Evidence can include:
bank statements
credit card statements
bank drafts.
This applies to all Post Study Work Visa applications for 1, 2 or 3 years.
New Zealand Post Study Work Visa Fee
The government of New Zealand has enforced on new fee structure for various type of visas with effect from October 1, 2024.
The basic fee for Post Study Work visa stands at NZD320 while the new immigration levy is NZD1,350, making the total fee NZD1,670.
