Senior Pakistani Politician Illahi Bux Soomro Passes Away

ISLAMABAD – Illahi Bux Soomro, a seasoned Pakistani politician and former Speaker of the National Assembly, breathed his last at the age of 98 on Wednesday.

Sardar Maula Baksh confirmed death of seasoned leader who served as Speaker from 1997 to 2001, and played a significant role in the country’s legislative history. His funeral will be offered in Karachi on Thursday.

Politicians are expressing condolences over Soomro’s demise, recognizing his contributions to the nation and his dedication to public service throughout his political career.

Former federal minister was a prominent figure in politics and was known for his efforts in promoting democratic values during his tenure.

Tributes have begun pouring in from political leaders and citizens alike, honoring Soomro’s legacy and his impact on Pakistani politics.

In January this year, reports about his death were carried by several media outlets including state-run Radio Pakistan, but the family members and fact chekers turned the reports.
