NPC marks Teachers Day with pledge to acknowledge teachers’ contributions in society

On the eve of the Teacher Day, speakers at a certificate-giving ceremony that was organized by the Taleem Network Pakistan (TNP), a project of the Nazriya Pakistan Council (NPC), paid rich tributes to the ‘Builders of the Nation’ for their contributions to secure the future of the nation and impart best knowledge and wisdom to them.

Chairman of the NPC, Mian Muhammad Javed presided over the ceremony while ex-Senator RazinaAlam Khan was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Guest of Honour, Director of National Curriculum Council (NCC) DrShafqat Ali Janjua, former diplomat SalahuddinChaudhry, Patron-in-Chief of Private School Network, Dr Abdul RaufBhatti, Secretary TNP Dr Muhammad Afzal Babar and a large number of best-performing teachers attended and addressed the ceremony.

Mian Muhammad Javed in his presidential address held that October 7 also marked completion of one-year of genocide by the Israeli forces in Gaza and it was heartening to note that the government at all levels and tiers was raising the voice for the suffering population of Palestine, particularly women, children and the elderly persons.

He strongly condemned the Israeli leadership for violating all laws of morality, humanity, diplomacy and decency. About the Teacher Day, MianJaved said teachers’ role was positive and constructive since they spread the light of knowledge and wisdom among the youth. Taleem Network under the NPC is doing a wonderful job in this regard and making linkages with teachers’ community to spread the NPC motto of highlighting the Ideology of Pakistan and Islam at schools and colleges.

SenRazinaAlam in her address as Chief Guest paid rich tributes to the teachers calling them Makers of our Nation. A beacon of light is always lit in their hearts and with the help of that beacon they spread light all around them, said she. She called for equal facilities, grades and opportunities for teachers and a VVIP status for them. She urged the teachers to make their students aware of the Ideology of Pakistan side by side with the lessons as given in their syllabus.

My father was a committed teacher and used to give extra coaching (without charging tuition fee) and I am proud of him. Senior member of the NPC Executive Committee, former diplomat SalahuddinChaudhry said the recommendations given by DrAfzal Babar should be incorporated in the form of a resolution and sent to various departments, divisions and ministries.
