The Pakistan Meteorological Department has warned of a potential dengue outbreak in 10 major cities, as cases have been on the rise since mid-September. The department forecasts that dengue fever may spread throughout the country’s urban areas by October. Cities at high risk include Karachi, Lahore, Peshawar, Rawalpindi, and Islamabad, along with Hyderabad, Faisalabad, Sialkot, Larkana, and Multan.

The meteorological department also indicated that dengue fever could emerge in rain-affected areas following the monsoon season, significantly impacting public health. This year marks the first time in a decade that a noticeable increase in dengue cases has been observed from September 20 to December 5.
