Punjab Minister for Information Fayyazul Hassan Chohan on Sunday said that the Leader of the Opposition in National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif has not bestowed mercy upon the people of Pakistan after returning from London.
The minister said that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President has kept Prime Minister Imran Khan and Chief Minister Usman Buzdar in his crosshairs since his arrival.
Chohan said that Shehbaz Sharif was obligated to come back to his motherland and stand by its people in their hour of need but he has failed miserably to do so.
The minister said that if Shehbaz Sharif was indeed harbouring pure intentions and want to help Pakistanis going through the coronavirus pandemic then he should think about submitting a few billion from his trillions of ill-gotten money to the Prime Minister Coronavirus Fund.
Fayyazul Hassan Chohan said that the desperation and frustration in the opposition is apparent due to the silent performer Usman Buzdar making waves and winning hearts across the province.
Chohan said that CM Buzdar did not believe in pomp and show is meeting the challenges head on. He said that Usman Buzdar timely administrative decisions have helped in limiting the coronavirus spread.
He said that Usman Buzdar has proved that the government believes in work rather than talking. Chohan said that Buzdar government is taking active initiatives containing the spread of the global pandemic coronavirus.
He said the Punjab’s administration crackdown is continued against hoarders and profiteers on the directives of the CM. The Minister in his statement informed that the Punjab government has increased release of wheat to flour mills from 25680 metric ton to 30,000 metric ton ensuring provision of wheat in the province.
He apprised that all provincial ministers and advisers are overseeing the wheat purchase campaign in different districts on the directives of the CM.
Partial lock-down in the province is being ensured through administration, police and military, he further added. He said that the Punjab government has distributed a mammoth amount of Rs 1.5 billion among the deserved under the Insaf Imdad Programme.
