LAHORE – As weather is expected to take a shift in next month of October, the Punjab government would also change the timings for schools across the province accordingly.

Last year, the provincial government had also changed the school timings in October 2023 when school opening time had been set at 8:30 am.

Current School Timings in Punjab

Currently, schools operating in single shift open at 8am and close at 1:30pm from Monday to Thursday while classes end at 12pm on Fridays.

For double shifts and afternoon shifts, the morning session starts at 8am and end at 12pm, while the afternoon session begins at 1pm to 5:30 pm, and the evening shift is held from 2pm to 5:30pm on Fridays.

Expected School Timings From October 2024

The final decision about change in the school timings will be made by the Punjab government. However, on the basis of the previous year’s decision, it appears that new school timings for boys will be from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm.

Meanwhile, schools for girls would start from 8:15 am and classes would end at 2:15 p.m.

On Fridays, the boy’s classes would start from 8:30 till 12:15 pm., whereas, the girl’s classes will end at 12pm after starting at 8:15am.

The classes in double-shift schools are expected to start at 7:45 a.m. and will continue till 12:15 p.m.

The evening classes are likely to start at 12:30 p.m and end at 5pm. On Fridays, the evening classes will begin at 1:30 p.m after Jumma break.

The new school timings will be updated here as soon as these are announced by the provincial government.
