Pakistan e-passport fees in UAE Dirhams from October 2026

ABU DHABI – Pakistan has started issuing electronic passports (e-Passports) to applicants at its embassy in Abu Dhabi and consulate general in Dubai from October 23, 2026 as Machine Readable Passports have been discontinued.

Under the new arrangement, all new passport applications submitted at both missions will be processed as e-Passports. However, existing valid Machine Readable Passports (MRPs) will remain acceptable until their expiry dates.

Pakistani citizens living in the United Arab Emirates have been advised to apply for passport renewal only when their existing documents have less than six months of validity remaining.

The notice also specifies that applicants must provide both a first name and a last name to obtain an e-Passport.

The Pakistani missions have announced fees based on passport validity, page capacity, processing speed and whether the document is being issued after a previous loss.

E-Passport Fee from October 2026

For a standard 36-page e-Passport, the normal processing fee is AED 145 for a five-year document and AED 215 for a 10-year passport. Under urgent processing, the respective fees are AED 235 and AED 355.

For 72-page passports, normal processing costs AED 260 for five years and AED 390 for 10 years, while urgent processing costs AED 425 and AED 635, respectively.

Higher charges apply when replacing lost passports. Depending on the page category, validity period and processing speed, fees increase for first and second losses, with the highest listed charge reaching AED 2,540 for a 10-year, 72-page passport lost for a second time under urgent processing.
